Bence Ságvári presented the smartphone-based data collection tool, Octopus Research Tools, developed at the Centre for Social Sciences to a professional audience at Indiana University in Bloomington at the event Workshop in Methods (https://events.iu.edu/ssrc/event/1271768-wim-dr-bence-sgvri-navigating-the-shift-from-face-to).
The presentation marked a significant milestone for his team – it was the first time Octopus was showcased in the United States!
They believe Octopus has the potential to make a substantial impact on how researchers can collect data through surveys, and from sensors and logs of smartphones, in an innovative, ethical, and trustworthy manner.
